We create, select and edit a large amount of images to build our (online) identities. We are in control. Maybe our whatsapp picture shows the fun us, while the linkedin one is more serious. We pick in how we want to be perceived. But also in the real world. We behave in ways that we find suitable for a specific situation in order to come across as that “decent person” or “strong personality” that you always claim to be. That seems to you as your personality. You see you, from your eyes.

The thing we might overlook sometimes is that identity is a rather vague concept that is not fixed but always changing. To your one friend you are a great listener, for the other you are the fun one, the next one you can work together with and the last might spend time with you because you are nice and quiet. All of them see you through their own eyes and might have different ideas. One person can see a self-confident character, while another might perceive the same person as arrogant. How would you see yourself from another perspective and from another pair of eyes?

See different people, from different eyes.

When you loose perspective,
You gain insight.
